Me and my big mouth

So I was so upset at the lack of grooming here in our state park that I organized an email group that was also upset. One thing has led to another and now we are actually hoping to become a "Parks and Trails" group......http://www.parksandtrails.org/ these groups are citizen advocacy groups and hopefully can lend constructive critisism to the park management team.
Life is crazy enough, but here I go adding more soup to the bowl!

Any hard core nordic skier, especially skate skier will absolutely drool over this site. I see tons of cool powder vids and sites, I see loads of mountaineering sites but this is by far the only site that actually makes me jealous....

Booked our tickets to Whitegrass

When I worked as a ski rep out in New England, year after year a really strange guy would stroll up to me, pull out a clear jar of moonshine and toast with me to how wonderful it was to live life in the mountains and to be a skier. His name is Chip Chase and he is the brainchild behind the Whitegrass Ski Touring Center in West Virginia. So after all these years, I am finally going to go with Margaret and some friends from DC to visit this famed and deeply spiritual ski place in the Canaan Valley.

My new weather site

So like any skier, surfer and outdoor junkie I am a weather nut on top of it. So you can imagine how happy I was that I saw this guy John Dee's forecast on Skinny SKi the other day. http://www.johndee.com/forecast_graphic.htm Note that this forecast was ahead of the majority of forecast models that said the heaviest amount would fall south and east of the twin ports. I bookmarked it and watched it to see (hopefully) that it would come true and indeed it did. We ended up with about 11 inches here at the house and Duluth came up with 14.5 inches.
I cant remember the last time that we had this promising a start to winter.
